That was my first shoe from them in 11 uk, and it looks great. It was unfortunately a little large for me, so I never made it off the carpet, but I'll be reordering a half size down once I sell mine in classified. The color in person is spot on with the website photo. Very well made, and the suede quality was good.

Meermin-with-patterned-calf (Museum calf, etc.) owners: how do you take care of it?

I'm afraid of getting a pair and gradually dying it the colour of the wax I'll use, making the pattern disappear. I've never had shoes with much of a patina so this is new to me. I've "converted" a light brown pair to cognac with ample application of Saphir and was surprised at how fast it happens. Do you use transparent products to avoid the problem?

I currently am 8.5 UK in the Hiro last, what size do I get for the Elton last?

I heard that the Elton last is more narrow in the toe box, is that true? I feel that the toe box is already pretty narrow for me atm in the Hiro last, should I size up?I

I just had to send back a pair of Elton oxfords because I ordered same size as I take in hiro. Far too tight. Laces nowhere near closed. Have ordered half size up. Fingers crossed but I think they will fit ok.

Hey thanks for the reply. Were the Hiros tight for you in the toe box or was the shoe well-fitting in all areas for you personally?

After break in, hiro is the best fitting last I've ever had. Tight but well fitting last. I think my trees have helped a bit.

Alright thanks :).

Going to size up then. Hope your shoes will be ok :)

Anyone have experience with sizing on the Elton last loafers? I am a 9 in hiro, 10 in most AE. 8.5 Ron loafers are a little tight and the leather is so stiff that it will take a long time to break in. I have a dark brown suede loafer NIB for $175 shipped, if anyone wants it..

Looking at the string loafers on the Ron last. I'm 8.5 on Carmina's Uetam last (calf tassel loafers), and I'm a little tight in my UK8 Double monks in suede on the Hiro last. Ideally I'd like a snug fit on the string loafers, so a little tighter than Uetam 8.5, anybody got both? Edit: Just re-tried them on, the same fit as the Uetam would be awesome

I am looking at the chelseas on the hiro last and am trying to figure out sizing. I know I am a 40 in SLP chelseas and jodhpurs. Should I go with an 8 then? Or should I rely on the fact that I am an 8.5-9 in OSB and a 9 in visvim?

bought suede double monks last year and have worn them less than 20 times. These are my favorite pair. After wear today, I noticed a chip coming off the rubber sole. This looks exactly like the previous post. I love meermin and have 8 of their shoes. This is very discouraging. I'll contact them as well. Even if they offer free repair, the cost of shipping will suck. Anything I can do other than resoling both shoes?
