I'm dreaming of ordering a pair of 101540 - black calf oxfords on an Elton last and I really need your size advice.

There's not much that I can compare with, due to my location and poor assortment of shoes. But I'm wearing LOAKE UK 8F. I have aldrich and outlaw of there 1880 range. They fit me perfectly.

I wonder if I should order size 8 from Meermin? It's important due to my location, the shipping cost is quite high, so if I miss the size I'd pay another pair of shoes to return them smile.gif

I'd be very grateful for you help. Thank you in advance.

Here they are

I have meermin elton last double monk UK7 and i also wore loake capitol last, same last as aldwych, in UK7F. Fit differently but both suit UK7 feet. Hope this help.

What shoe/boot trees do people use for Meermin boots on the Hiro last? I'm really struggling to find any that will fit and boot trees seem to be exceptionally rare.

I've contacted them and they've suggested me to go for 9 UK. Here's what they said:

Dear Mr. Olar,

Thanks for your message.

We send to you the measures of the Elton last in size 9UK:

L 312 mm shoe outsole 9UK

W 108 mm shoe outsole 9UK

L 292 mm last insole 9UK

W 103 mm last insole 9UK

Foot 27.2 cm 9UK

I've measured my foot and it is actually at about 27 cm long and 7 cm wide. I cannot imagine how wide the foot should be to be 10 cm wide...

Anyway, thank you for you help... will try to contact them again to figure it out :)

Has anyone ordered belts from Meermin?  I wanted to order a belt in Oak Antique but was curious as to sizing.  From my experience, I know Carmina tends to run a size small from stated sizing(ie size 36US/90 fit more like a size 34 to me) and I was wondering if Meermin fits the same way?  Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Same sizes.

Don't order the belts. Not comparable to the quality of the shoes (which are great value for money). I ordered one and the leather didn't match any better, it was really thin with scratch marks all over it. And to top it all off it was about a foot too short, and I have a 29" waist. It hadn't even been measured. I've heard of other people receiving belts too short also.

Belts from Savile Row firms and British shoemakers on sale will cost as much and will be 100x better quality.

Hey, I paid 35€  each for my suede belts.  You mean that is not good value?.  I can tell you my suede belts do their job, just like my shoes or my Carmina cordovan belts..

And it seems you had the same problems than many others buying Meermin shoes and belts from the web.  Kind of lottery game?

hmm, seems i have some pondering to do.  thanks for the info to both of you.

Hello everybody!

It's the first time I'm going to order an expensive (for my buck) pair of shoes (above 200-250 euros).

I was ready to order a Loake Strand at 240 euros (shipping included) but while searching for other options I saw Meermin Mallorca.

So what's your opinion about this? should I proceed with the Strand or go for something similar from Meermin at 160€?

What about the quality comparison of Loake's 1880 line to Meermin Classic or even Linea Maestro line?

Both are good shoes, go for the style and last you like.

Have you tried measuring some of your shoes? Bare in mind that your foot does not come all the way to the end or width of your shoes tounge.gif

Still wears great to this day, about 2 years now.

Anyone? Do most people stick to the same size between calf versus suede on the same last?

I only ask because in my experience with Carmina, Rain last, the suede oxford felt 0.5
size bigger than the calf.

How did you measure? 7 cm seems abnormally narrow for your length (or any length for that matter!) and 27 cm too long for your UK 8 Loakes.

Loake 1880 are better made and have infinitely better qc. However, as a younger man I find their lasts and styles unsuitable for me. They're the shoes my dad wears.
