Meermin Mallorca Shoes - Page 951

Can someone point me in the direction to where I can find my size in Meermin based off of other lasts? For example, I'm a 9E on the AE 65 last and trying to find my Meermin size. My Brannock is a 9 and i'm in between a D and an E.

Yes in my experience they fit just a slight bit bigger than most AE lasts. Since you are E width in AE you should be fine with 8 UK. 8.5 UK is probably too big.

Just arrived after a long wait, my green MTO boots.
Ordered back in September for November delivery.
When they hadn't shown up by mid-December I contacted Meermin who said they'd had problems with production and that they'd throw in a free pair of shoe trees to compensate.

Anyway, the got here this morning, and I'm happy with them. Maybe some very minor issues with slight creasing etc, but nobody but me will ever spot that.
Hiro last, and a good, snug fit.
I wear a UK size 7F in comparable Loake boots on the Capital last and these are a 7.5.

Just have to figure what to wear them with.

They look great, wear them in good health.

The mentioned creasing was like that when you got them, or have you worn them?

Also thanks for including the size comparison.

I wore them once, for about two minutes, just walking round the house.
Yes, slight creasing on the vamp now. Have rubbed them down with Colonil lotion now.
The creasing was referring to was up on the shaft of the right boot. Not worth sending them back for. Nobody will ever really see it.

Now the search is on for suitable polish.
Might need a new brush, just for green.

The colour is slightly darker than appears int he photos, but still quite green.

Another case of drunk-shopping on a Saturday night...

Purchased Meermin's 'Galway' type boots in oak antique and brown country calf. 245$ + shipping (in $US) turns out to amount 407$ CDN.

And then I get billed with 140$ in duties and brokerage fees by DHL.

In the end, the 250$ pair of boots turn out to be really 550$.

It's hard to live in Canada, sometimes.

And then, they don't expect the CDN dollar to gain strength anytime soon...

Crazy.... haven't we discussed this issue like 6 months ago. You should have gotten them shipped to VT or upstate NY and then picked them up. You would have easily saved over CAD$120 even  after paying for gas and the hassle of driving and crossing the border.

True. We, indeed, did discuss the issue last spring (if memory serves right). Some people just don't learn, don't they?

I hope next time, I won't have had one too many drink and will remember to use a US address to receive packages from abroad.

Great boots!!.  You are not the only one wearing boots in that colour.  All kind of jeans and ready to go!!. Slight creasing is part of its nature.  Enjoy them.

A heads up to people ordering shearling lined boots on the hiro last. Despite their advice that you don't need to size up, I did, because I'm between sizes anyway. I ordered half a size up and they are pretty much as snug as the boots a half size down on the same last, with thin socks. They may fit me a half down also but I definitely wouldn't say they are too big. A surprisingly narrow last and I say that as someone with small feet!

That's interesting, thanks for sharing the size comparison.   Can I ask what made you decide to size up a half?  Meermin told me via email that hiro/olfe fit the same as the capital last, and I've also been reading about the capital vs hiro/olfe and finding that the recommendation for staying the same size vs sizing up a half to be about 80% vs 20% respectively.  I've also heard that capital is a bit roomy for its size so not sure what to think!  I've got the Aldwych on the Capital last in an 8.5 and its a bit big (not huge though) so I was thinking about an 8 from Meermin, but I'm not sure.

Maybe I just have weird feet, but I've always found the Loake Capital last to be a bit big.
I wear a UK 7.5 in most other shoes, but for Loake's Capital I have to go for a 7.

I've bought size 7 boots in Loake 024 and had to sell them as they were just too tight across the toes.

I also have a few pairs of Allen Edmonds, and in the Shelton and the MacNeil I wear an 8.5D US size.

Thanks for the info! It all helps in trying to piece together this Meermin fitment puzzle :P
