Buying from Goodyearshoes on eBay means that you bought a pair of factory seconds.

No, not really. You'll get a shipping notification when it's ready. They were within the time window promised on the GMTO, but don't expect daily updates like some Kickstarter campaigns.

I bit on the cherry version, too. Any idea on how many orders are required before a MTO becomes fully funded?

I believe it is 25 orders per MTO.

some of meermin's MTOs are a definite homerun.

So they also made the Galaway as well? You think they would consider the Dovers in antique oak calf?

I would LOVE if they made the St. Crispins French Norwegian derby ... instakop

Anyone owned meermin oak antique calf shoes? Very interested in the double monk but dont know if the actual color is light like in thier website. The pictures are taken at a strange lighting IMO.

The shoes are really nice and you got them at 2/3 of their retail price.

I indeed have paid less than retail, but buying factory seconds while they are advertised as brand new non-seconds does not feel right to me and I would not have bid this high if I knew they were seconds. But before I jump to conclusions I'll ask the seller what the R means, it might be something else.

That's not true since he sells seconds but also samples and new in box shoes.

Here are my boots, pics taken with iPhone 5, which is not as great as DSLR but I think the pics look decent.

Which glossy polish or wax Meermin has been using to obtain these results !?

How many times have you worn them ? On mine, only after one wear, and you can see the leather wrinkle where the feet flex. Probably due to the leather being soft...

I don't know, but you should be able to accomplish that with just about any wax polish (and some patience).

They may mirror shine (or at least close to it) the entire shoe for photos. Not practical in real life because it'd flake everywhere, but make a nice display and photoshoot

Even the "new in box" listings that do not say "factory seconds" or "with defect" generally had some type of flaw or that R. I bought two LM from Goodyearshoes, one that had a scuff on the side of one of the shoes, and another that had that R. Both were "new in box" and never said "factor seconds" or "with defect."

I am happy with both of them.
