Meermin Mallorca Shoes - Page 816

3 out of 10 pairs of Meermin I own are squeaking too, 2 from CL and the other LM, I used to get really annoyed, mostly around the office, nowadays I just find it funny as it does go away from time to time, it's like the shoes have their own personality!

Are there any more news from Meermin as to when they will start the production of these boots....

Anyone have thoughts on this Shell Cordovan boot from the Linea Maestro line? I purchased them for 330 Euro after trying them on in the Madrid store and being told by the salesman that they were hand welted.  Apparently though based on this page they are merely goodyear welted.

What seemed like a good buy seems a bit less so now.  The shell is not of the same quality as I have seen on higher end shoes and is sourced from Argentina I believe.  Should I cancel my order?  They fit will and I was planning on using them as a beater.

Nice, the reverse one is probably mine or I hope biggrin.gif. I wish they wouldn't darken the grain that much though! Contrast is a good thing! That calf is just seriously dark.

I'm in the throws of a fairly vicious search for a dark brown adelaide.  Strike two arrived in the mail today.  On the bright side, I figured I've got a fairly rare opportunity to do a side by side of two makers that wouldn't normally hang out together.  The unlaced shoe below is a C&J Albany (hand grade on the 337).  The laced shoe is from Meermin's LM line on their olfe last.  Remarkably similar given that the former is triple the price.

In the interest of full disclosure I should also mention the reason each pair is going back. The C&J's simply don't fit. The Meermin's... are a different story unfortunately.  I noticed that the toe cap of one shoe was larger than the other.  By a quarter inch actually. I then noticed that the shoe size written inside the shoe for one says 8, but the other says 7. It's not simply a matter of pulling the wrong shoe off the rack because both soles are stamped as size 8.  Like I said, unfortunate.

I've got both a pair of double monks on the Hiro last and a pair of oxfords on Park last in 10,5 UK. The Park I received yesterday and obviously still need to break in. They fit quite similar and feel comfortable around the foot. While I find it difficult to compare the monk with an oxford, I think the Park is less suited for a high instep (like I have). I like the shoe to lace up tightly, but the V-shape of the vamp is too wide for my liking, about 1/2-3/4 inch.

I don't have the V-shape on the Carmina Inca last in the same size.

330€ for a pair of goodyear welted shell cordovan boots is one hell of a deal. Plus they look great. I'd buy them if they were available online at that price.

anyone find the Park last to fit bigger than the Olfe last?

Interested in getting the suede chelseas, not sure which color yet - light or dark brown.

I measure a 8.5 (US) on a braddock.

I wear 41 (8) in Common Projects, Margiela.  I wear an 8 in Sanders/Mark McNairy and Grenson.

What size do you recommend for me?

Also, are there any promotional discount codes, maybe for first time buyers?  Anything helps.

Appreciate it.

I am usually a 10.5US on most AE shoes but wear an 11US with Meermin on the Hiro and Olfe last (10UK). I ordered the suede chelsea's last week and went with my usual Meermin size of 10UK. Be on the safe side and go with 7.5UK.

Meerman doesn't offer any promotional discount codes. However, with the current value of the Euro to the dollar you're getting a great price for them in US dollars. This is actually what swayed me to buy my pair now. With the exchange they come out to about $210 which is what you would be paying for the 160 Euro pair when the euro was higher.
