This may be early as most of us haven't had these shoes long enough yet to need it...but in the future when they will need to be resoled and maybe even recrafted, does Meermin offer this service themselves? Or were you all just going to a respected cobbler that you may already be frequenting and have them fix it up?
I have the double monks and the original museum calf MTO and would hope that Meermin will do recrafting. I'm a bit weird and don't like losing the original logos, which is what happens when someone other than the OEM does the resoling, etc. (unless I'm mistaken)
Meermin does not have resoling. You should go to your local cobbler.
I have no idea what you mean by logos. These are shoes beat them up and resole them till they break. I would not be so careful with them. Character has its own beauty.
Are these Meermin shoe trees really a bad fit? I'm fairly new to Meermin and got a pair of dark brown oxford from the Classic line in size 9 (Hiro Last). The only thing the shoe trees really fill is the instep. Does that happen to anyone of you guys?
If it is, I'd rather get a generic ones for my future Meermin purchases.
They are non - lasted trees so yes. You can just some 15$ trees from your local store.
Hey SF. New member here and I'm trying to order my first pair of Meermins. Specifically, the dark brown Rapello Chelsea boots on the Rui last. I searched the forum, but only found advice for the Hiro and Olfe lasts so I'm hoping that y'all can help me with sizing. I measure an 11D on the Brannock device and I am in a 10D in AE Park Avenues on the 5 last. I also have a very flat foot. Thanks in advance!
Rui is wider than olfe/hiro.
But RUI probably has the same sizing as olfe and Hiro.
You will likely wear 9UK in RUI.
Flat feet can sometimes be a problem BUT since you are getting boots you will not suffer from most of the heel slip issues that most people here face.
