Meermin. Carmina 2nd brand? - Page 42

Post pictures when you get them. I have my eye on these, but the website pictures are not the best for getting a feel for the shoe's silhouette.

They should be more sleek than in picture, I'll post pics when I'll receive them.

Hi post here a pic of all the Meermin lasts; the one I bought are the "Hiro" last (I bought it in a dark bron calf) and the shape seems to be sleek and comfortable at the same time ... .

Double monks have been posted before, they had a more burgundy color irl, look some pages back.

Received my Meermin dark brown calf double monks yesterday and they are fantasic!

The colour is very close to that of the website - the 'reddish' hue only really seems to come out under artificial light. I'll be able to provide a better assessment of their true colour during the day after I take them on their madien voyage tomorrow if anyone is interested?




As for fit, I can only comment on the difference from loake's 'captial' last but there is less room in the vamp/upper. This is great for me as I have to wear inserts in my loake strands - I guess I have a relatively flat foot. The length is spot-on for me also (my strands are a UK 7 as are the meermin double monks).

I would also like to echo everyone else's comments regarding the quality of service from Meermin. The guys are extremely friendly/helpful and the shipping (to Australia) took 6 business days! Highly recommended.

Different double monks - these have a "Nantes Grain" upper, and a York Sole (rubber combo) lower.

Have just ordered their penny loafers in dark brown (looks strange to me that they weren't mentioned before in this topic). Hope the way to Russia won't take forever:)

I just grabbed two pair, one from each line, to determine the best last for me and then I may go MTO.

Big day on Mallorca apparently ordered the brown Oxford with the medallion on the Olfe last this morning. Great service from José... Will post pictures on arrival. Weird that the shipping is quite a lot cheaper than carmina btw.

Not bothering to order online, will visit their Madrid store in July. I'm also visiting Carmina, but I think I'll end up buying two pairs from Meermin, and just visit the Carmina retail store.
