Does it hurt? Are your toes getting squeezed?
If not, then the problem is not width of the shoes but the girth of instep. Size up width will help. Do not size up in length/size.
I just recieved these from Meermin. I really like how they look, and though they might be a tad too narrow at the moment I hope that they will stretch a little bit. Though I am unsure of the amount of space that forms between the two pieces of leather that holds the shoe strings. Can a bigger size fix this, or do I simply have too high of an arch on my feet?
Funny, I was going to ask the same question. See my photo below.
Are our feet too wide for the last this shoe is built on?
Unless, I"m mistaken, I do not think Meermin offers shoes in different widths.
I've been lurking in this thread (and all over the site) for a while. Anyway, I've got the opportunity to buy the shoes above at 30% off because of a very minor defect. Now I was wary of ordering grade b's from Meermin because of their apparent lack of quality control, so I presumed the grade b's would have really bad defects. This one however, seems pretty minor, so basically I'd like to know if you think they run true to size, I'm a UK 8 in the major northampton brands and the model is 101341 nantes grain, so should I stick with a UK8 or go up or down 1/2 a size?
Also, if you think I'd be making a mistake ordering grade b shoes from Meermin then don't be shy in coming forward!
Lastly, they had about 5 different models in my size and offered 25% off these, but they weren't to my taste.
So, I have to ask about the sole splitting issue again --> i just got a new pair of the standard captoes. Everything is okay, but there is a small gap in front on one of them where the sole is stitched to the shoe. Well, it's not really a "gap", but if I push it up with my finger, you can see it go up for a fraction of a millimeter, and overall the line where the sole connects to the shoe is pretty obvious, since this tolerance, while small, has cracked the edge paint a bit..
So, my quesiton is, is this tipe of tolerance that can happen occasionally with stitched leather soles, or it it an actual defect that merits a return. Thanks.
I agree with what others have said, but think the issue is exacerbated by how wide apart the eyelets are. On a shoe with more normally placed eyelets, your fit issues would not be so pronounced.
MTO dubmonks got delivered today. Not at home but my Dad took a few iPhone pics. Looks good overall, some scuffing damage from shipping (at least I hope) and color on shell seems rich but is not fully uniform. Overall pretty happy though I would need to see shoes in person to really inspect (hopefully in two weeks or so)
Soles, BoO inspired, blue came out a bit weirdScuff
