Meermin. Carmina 2nd brand? - Page 269
Quite snug, but not more snug than other shoes I own in UK width F from Grenson for instance. The main issue is the lacing area strangely enough. I have a derby on the same last which is also a snug fit sans the lacing issue.
Sounds like you have a high instep to go along with a foot that is too wide for that very narrow last.
I owe you guys an update on my double monks.
Since my last post I have been in contact with Pepe and he informed me that he had personally inspected my shoes. The shoes were not returned because they were used, as Sandro said, but because he thinks there is nothing wrong with them. My shoes arrived yesterday. I found that the toe caps are not cut in a straight line on both shoes and are probably not supposed to be cut completely straight. The difference between the left and right shoe is actually fairly minimal. Difficult to see exactly because were talking curved lines on a curved surface, but minimal.
I assume the leather is cut by hand, so expecting the cuts to be exactly the same was unrealistic of me. If anything, it adds a certain rustic or artisanal charm. I send an email with apologies to Pepe and Sandro
Between the stress from a lack of sleep from a, otherwise wonderfull, nine month old baby and a mother diagnosed with cancer I lost my cool here and overreacted. The shoes are fine! My sincere apologies if I caused any concern about the quality of Meermin shoes.
3rd wear. Starting to be borderline comfortable! Slightly heavier creasing than I would've liked but nothing trees don't take care of.
Does anyone else in colder climes wince when they walk across rocksalt in their LM's?Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
