Haven't receive updated invoices yet; haven't paid the first invoice of 290ish (vs. 270ish what some reported) since I am not getting trees.
Meermin. Carmina 2nd brand? - Page 265
No detailed invoice but the numbers added up with a reduced shipping charge so I just paid the first one and hope for the best. Terrorsquad seems to be on top of things. I've been in contact with Sandro about another matter and replies are taking 3-4 days so I suppose they're still pretty swamped.
Pepe is still working on this. Give him 2-3 days; after that, I will give him a call to check on the updates of this MTO, especially for those who require revised invoices.
I was discussing with Pepe on sourcing this for the next MTO
I'm thinking the issue could be clarified by better lighting. Looking at the picture provided, UnnamedPlayer might be struggling to notice any actual flaw. I mean, in that image, the curve described by Sergej isn't really perceptible.
Still, I'm of the opinion that such an issue, if objectively observed, would be considered a defect and that any customer should return any shoes that do not satisfy them.
Justification for Meermin's no-wear position could be two-fold, in that it reduces the amount of returns from those who simply dislike the shoe after wearing and it might allow them a market for factory seconds, similar to that of AE.
Nevertheless, sergej's complaints could have been handled more appropriately. He requested a replacement and appears to have advised them of the details before shipping. When a manufacturer agrees to replace a shoe that has been worn, they should stand by that, no matter if it conflicts with the company's general policy. An agreement is just that, an agreement.
(We are assuming that he is presenting the facts, rather than attempting to present himself in a manner that will garner more empathy.)
His story has not, however, discouraged me from placing an order with Meermin at some point.
The shoes should arrive this coming monday. I'll try to take a few shots with better lighting.
Is it because you got shoe taps? My 277 was for shoes and shipping only, no shoe taps or any other bells & whistles.
Let Pepe worry about getting current MTO up to par before confusing him with the next one.
Thanks for the update, just want the shoes to be put into production as soon as possible. Did they already request the leather?
price is a bit steep given that they sell for about $310 new from meermin and only $360 or so with duty
Duh, you are paying for the privilege of knowing that you are getting a perfect Meermin shoe with no defects, not one of those pieces of shit with a toe cap 5mm too long
or a mark of edge-dressing on the upper.
Nice, who's the maker of the shoe in the pic? I like the last, though I haven't seen Meermin do that type of chiseled toe. I would love to see them adopt at G&G style chiseled toe last in addition to what they have.
You should probably create a classified in the MC Classifieds section of SF. This thread isn't for selling items, though
it's certainly fine to mention that certain items are available for sale.
