i have big and wide feet and have to be careful with what i order, it happened with AE many times where i had to send shoes back, and with them being in Spain, im sure it wouldnt be fun.

 

FWIW, I haven't had any language-issues at all with Pepe, and find his english quite good. I deal a lot with global clients and have learned to really simplify my sentence structure; might be something to be cognizant of if you weren't already.

This was organized in June and the order was put in July.At that time, Meermin was just starting out and was not swamped by MTO orders like it currently is so we managed to put in a group buy for the austerity brogues.

Dealing with Pepe on these group buy was a pleasure and the early relationship I built with him helped (Orders of close to 20 pairs overall helps). Hopefully I will be able to organize another one though i'm not sure we could get the same incredible deal we got for this one now that Meermin is quite swamped with orders.

I'm still new to decent dress shoes (Loake 1880 Aldwych last and a couple of pairs of shoes from the classic collection), so am not experienced enough to evaluate the difference in construction and leather. However, Linea Maestro feels better and is most evident in finishing.

Unlike others (and my Loakes), I did not experience any discomfort with the uppers. This remains true for both classic and Linea Maestro.

I'll probably try Carmina next year because of the greater range and colours (especially single monks in burgundy / oxblood). For the basics i.e. black / brown Oxford toecaps and monks, Meermin hits the sweet spot.

P.s. Currently having my single monks re-soled with a Dainite sole due to a mixture of puncturing right sole (must have stepped on tree root or two in the wet - goddamn London pavements), little bit of water damage and London weather. At least one pair of shoes with Dainite soles is a must in London.

I actually sized a full size up based on luisa's recommendation. My left foot is wider than my right, and I've found I need to go up in size to get a decent fit.

Do you have any pics of the 102390s after some wear?

Austerity Brogues are looking great.

 

I wish Meermin would release a slightly more squared off last - Something like EGs 888.

 

Also - does anyone else find the vamp on the Meermin double monks to be really low? Mine fit perfectly around the foot but I had to cut a few new buckle holes to stop them slipping

Hi all,

 

I need some help. I've been around reading the forum for quite some time but i still count myself pretty green and new to shoes. I've bought a couple of Linea Maestro models from Meermin in the past but recently but i have a pretty bad shipment lately. To top it off, i saw this on my pair of classic model, semi brogue suede shoes.

 

Is that normal or its a huge defect?

 

Can someone feedback regarding this?

Im a bit mad about Meermin right now. I preordered shoes which i should pay on 2 november which ive done. I also asked for shoes for my girlfriend. They just answered that the shoes arent available right now and that i could preorder. A questions about my paid shoes were ignored. I just wanted to know if they really are available now. Then i read that they have problems with their Mailserver and that i should resend my mail. Ive done that and all i got was a short question from sandro asking which size i want to order the shoes for my girlfriend. I answered him and asked again about my paid shoes. This was monday and im still waiting. Maybe im not patient enough but im waiting now around 2 weeks for an answer. I understand that they have lots to do but for me it seems that they are playing on time a little bit. If the paid shoes are not available yet or the shoes are broken they just had to tell me instead of ignoring my question and taking over one week to answer my mails. While ordering they just answered in 5 minutes after my Mails until everything was clear. After paying this changed. i really like theire shoes and i apreciate the infos pepe sent me about my ordered mtos and i wish that i will get info soon about the other shoes ive ordered and paid.
