Meermin. Carmina 2nd brand? - Page 131

I am fairly new to all this myself, so regarding size, I will just tell you how it works for me personally.  Hopefully it will be applicable to you as well:

 

My first dress shoes were AEs in 10D.  I have a few pairs from them in 10D and some alden dessert boots in 10D.  They all fit well enough.  In C&J drummond, I am a 9E.  I used this as my reference when asking for advise from Sandro because I figured that he probably was not overly familiar with AE.  He reccomended the Chukkas in size 9, and my MTO hiro last double monks in size 9 as well.  So, for a size 10D AE, you size down one full size, at least for these two lasts.

 

edit:  The chukkas fit perfectly, but i do not have my shell double monks yet... but if they were right on one, I bet that their size suggestion will be right on the hiro last too.

 

I am betting that you would probably find a local shoe repair source for new soles/repairs.

I have slightly wide feet at 26.1cm L and 10.9 W. My feet are a touch wide, but I don't have much girth in my instep, so sometimes its harder to fit wide shoes with taller toeboxes. Pepe recommended a size 8UK for the Hiro, Ama and Rui lasts, but looking at their tumblr, it seems like these shapes are very, very different. Anyone with similar sized feet with experience with these lasts?

Not sure if the navy one is suede or nubuck. Sole is much thinner too - I was told its construction is called "Spring Goodyear".

 

They fit perfectly. I wear a UK 6.5 in C&J Connaught (Last 236) and Westfield (Last 341) and Jose said 6.5 would be right. He was right, they fit like a charm.

 

I'm looking into getting a pair of dark brown captoes next.

Are those MTO or regular classic collection/LM shoes?

I am looking for a pair of wholecuts and those look good. I prefer tan/brown to black.

I've just received my new makeup of Meermin's oxfords in black suede. Plenty of pics to come.

Those ones look like the Classic collection because the AMA last is used for the wholecuts; whilst the Linea Maestro used the New Rey last.

Neither Classic nor Linea Maestro have any other colour except black for wholecuts. The Armoury sell a beautiful pair of tan wholecuts (Carmina) on the Inca last. However, the cost is nearly 150 euros more.

That said, Meermin are adding more colours to their Linea Maestro collection via their online ordering.

Or you could go MTO.

Snuff suede wholecuts. They are nothing less than awesome. Such a nice brown, especially paired against a navy suit. Will post more pics soon once I get them together. Enjoy.
