Well that's a pity, and they seemed to have produced some in the past in dark brown (pretty sure I've seen semi brogue bluchers and a full brogue oxford in brown). Burgundy longwings maybe? I can't see you getting too much use out of a pair of black PTBs or tassel loafers?

agreed. debating between burgundy lws and the light brown shell nst. leaning toward the nst because I just love the color and im intrigued by the design

NAMOR, regarding differing color - the shade of Cuero Pepe received in mid April was slightly darker than the batch they'd had before. My shoes are from the later batch - yours might be from the earlier batch.

I will say, now that I have worn them, that they are the nicest shoes I own and that they are very well made.

The key difference between these and a shoe twice as expensive would be in the quality control.

 

Looking at the picture you can clearly see the left shoe (the one on the right in the picture) has had the sole stitched on sloppily and unevenly.

Even the brouging is uneven.

A company with higher quality control wouldn't let these shoes out and would have lower tolerances for a shoe like this being produced in the first place.

 

Regardless, I love these shoes and for the amount I paid AU$190, they are fantastic.

After reading through this thread, and Derek's write up, I'm signing up for two pairs. I'm thinking:

Burgandy shell long wings. LM MTO with an antiqued sole edge and the York rubber soles.

Dub monks. LM MTO with karangrain, light brown, double leather soles.

Does anyone have a pair in any style in the Karangrain leather? How does it polish up and how well does it wear use and abuse?

I've got an email in to Pepe, but it would be great to know from those who have ordered recently what the wait time is for MTO's.

Oops, received shipping notice. Sp it may be too late. Oh well. Will post pics ASAP. I'll also make it a point to wear them a couple of times a week while it remains dry.

I didn't get any customs charges (shipped via TNT). I think that I've only paid customs 1x on anything, a ft. pen from Asia.

I'm really curious by additional cost for their customization. Does anybody know how much extra it would cost to have their Classic Collection to be constructed to Linea Maestro standards like Derek's PTO post? I really love the shape of soles in their LM models.

My MTO looks really light but is probably unfinished I'm guessing in terms of color
