Any idea when they will be able to take mail orders?I saw some models on their tumblr that interests me..

I walk down Claudio Coello st. everyday and I didn't notice the store - I should slap myself in the face.

 

Gotta go there... they look a whole lot better than my €170 Magnannis...

they must have some dough already. let alone the wall of lasts is worth a few grand. this is not the usual start-up decoration.

how did the shell look, specifically?

Or any overseas order, for that matter.

Very nice shoes there! I'm going to Madrid in April, definitely I'll have to pay a visit to their store.

Those suede shoes at the top look very nice!

Just got a reply from Pepe, they will be launching their online shop soon. Can't wait!

To be honest, there looked to be some excess material near the welt and the perforations on the brogueing looked a little rough.
The stitching wasn´t too fine either.
Neither of these were issues on the tassel loafer.

In my opinon, the longwings, derbies, ptbs and saddle shoes didn`t suffer too much from the rougher look.

The rough finishing was more obvious ater taking a look at Carmina´s offerings, just down the road.


The calf Norvegese on the other hand were finished to a standard not too disimilar to Vass or even St. C. (lovely, wooden pegged waist; very tight, perfect stiches)

I have seen these shoes in person. Let me just say that if you expect anywhere near Vass quality, you will be disappointed.
My opinion is that the finishing and in some cases the leather quality on the Meermins is comparable to Loake 1880's, at best.

Wow. Then they have done a spectacular job if only by tempting me with great photos.

remember the bashing vass received when they appaered. well, and don't listen to strangers on the internet, heh.

I agree that some of the shoes are finished to a quality similar to a Loake or Barker.

On the other hand, I have never seen an offering from Loake that featured Freudenberg calf leather and handwelting.
Like most shoe companies Meermin have a high and a low end available.

FWIW I own Vass and have inspected these in person.
I'm no expert and I'm just sharing my honest opinion.
