Has anyone been custom ordering shell in different colors? I haven't seen pictures of anything even as "different" as a tan.

It's not the end of the world. In that the covering over the channelled sole is pretty likely to wear off fairly quickly - particularly little bits at the toes.

But no - I wouldn't call that normal.
