That last isn't as nice as the Deco last G&G stingrays I have seen pictures of. I think stingray needs to be a little more fashion-forward last wise to match the exotic skin.

Meermin Stingray...I ordered these when G&G wasn't offering stingray in my size...not that they are again, I have to decide whether to just keep these or sell them and go for the G&Gs...hmm.....

these are nice but i agree with naka. are these on the ama last?

I do agree that a more dramatic last would create a more appropriate effect for the stingray. Although I suspect that 'on the hoof' those shoes are pretty impressive none the less.

So I say, unless you MUST sell them in order to partially fund another pair why not make the decision I always make - BOTH!

Unbelragazzo: Don't you have a pair of burgundy shell wingips from Carmina? How are those doing for you? I'd love to see a recent pic of them in the Carmina thread. :nodding:

Yessir! The wingtips are gorgeous - they're on the rain last. I haven't worn them much recently because it's basically turned to spring in DC and I consider them kind of a fall/winter shoe, perhaps without reason. Here's a pic of them side by side with the Meermins...this is after maybe a dozen wears on the Carminas:

This picture might give a little better idea of the last:

comparing meermin to G&G is silly but I think the most apparent differnce in last shape are the chisled toes and trim, beveled waist of G&G. they are masters at that. everything aside, i think these look great. how do you like the last fit?

Well, it's not like I'll starve if I get both. But on the other hand if I got the G&Gs then I can't see myself ending up wearing these very often, as nice as they are. One solution might be to get the G&Gs in a different color, maybe navy, maybe a dark brown. I'd kinda like to see the G&Gs in person first to see if the skins are really as amazing as in the photos I have seen. This was the first time I had ever seen stingray in person and it's slightly different than I had anticipated.

The fit is great, at least so far as I can tell from walking around in my apartment for 10 minutes. I got them in the same size as I got my Rain last wingtips, which fit a tad loose. These are just right.

Thank you for the pic. I bought the shell derby wingtip in green, also on the Rain last, recently. Partly because of how much I liked yours on the Rain last.

Glad to see they are doing well for you!

And yes - more a fall/winter shoe than a spring/summer shoe.
