Just had info from Jose Re The Austerity Brogue on the Olfe "Assymetric Classic Round" last....... Just wondering how that would look on a soft square last in Dark Brown Calf ............................
That would look amazing. Definitely do it!!!:slayer: Any idea on how much that would cost and sizing on that last for US10D?

Jose recommended a 8.5UK for me with the Hiro last, I was just wondering how good his sizing recommendations are, I don't own any dress shoes other than AE Park aves. With the park aves I wear a size 9US, but after reading that Wes got a 8UK, I'm not too sure about what size I am now.

Fwiw, I wear a US9D in AE PAs. The AEs are longer because of the #5 last shape, but both fit/feel the same when worn. Ymmv.

I wear a 10D in AE's - in most lasts including my PA's. Pepe recommended size UK9 in the Hiro last for me. I just received a fedex tracking notice today that says they ( dark brown Classic double monks) will arrive today. I will let you know if his recommendation was accurate.

Meermin shipped me the wrong pair of double monks yesterday - (brown instead of black).

The customer service in getting this sorted has been exemplary. I have been shipped the correct black pair and have been offered 10% off the brown pair if I want to keep them with no additional p&p charges. If I dont, then I can ship them back at my leisure and they will refund my postage costs.

Am I mad to keep both?

To keep them will be a wise, educated, carbon-neutral and thus economically and ecologically preferred solution. Do it! :)

I think it's nice also, reminds me of the Carmina Robert last a bit, which I also have. My MTO pair are on the olfe last. To me, the new Rey and particularly the vil are too pointed. olfe is a good middle ground, not pointed but still elegant.
