Does anyone have a TAT suit where the LINING makes alot of noise when you move around?

It's kind of hard to describe but you know when you wear a windbreaker and you rub your arms together and it makes a funny swishy sound, that's what my TAT jacket sounds a bit like when I move my arms.  I don't like that.

 

I tried on a Jacket before at a department store that did that where the lining made that swishy noise and I was like oh wow, I would never buy that jacket.  None of my other suits make this noise but the TAT does. 

 

Any thoughts??
 

I just received my first TaT suit in med grey sharkskin conservative cut.  Sorry I didn't have a chance to press it yet but here are some pics out of the box.  Pants are loose around the waist and will have that fixed.  What other adjustments do you guys think I should get?

Your pants are way too long and a little too tapered at the ankle for conservative cut. Hem them shorter to either have a slightly break or no break at all. You can have them taken out from the knees down if you want them less tapered. The jacket needs slight suppression in the waist in the front. The back is fine though.

I think it depends on the materials too. My VBC jacket is more noticeable in sound than my other jackets. If you're really bothered by it, I would look into having the lining replaced by a local tailor. For future ref, you can send Jason your own lining as well to be used.

Which fabric is this?

I met up with Jason about a month ago for measurements and just received my suit. Please critique the fit. I apologize for the poor lighting and the fact that the suit isn't pressed yet.

 

Overall I'm very pleased with the pants. I've never had a pair fit so well. In the pics it's a bit difficult to make out where the pants break but to my eyes they look good. I'm not 100% sure on what adjustments need to be made on the jacket. I'll visit a tailor soon but would appreciate any things to pay attention to before going.

Suit needs to get pressed first before critiques can be made. The picture I left in the quote looks extremely weird, not sure if it's the suit or what.

VBC 130 jacket today:

Nice color coordination. However my snarkiness said your jacket seemed tight around waist that caused some pulling at the buttons.

Petrol Blue. The color and fabric are superb and I need to shorten the pants. Not sure if the suit sleeves are a tad short or if I just need to shorten the shirt sleeves. Also, that crease on my right shoulder, is that an issue with the pressing job done? Didn't notice that when I put it on our of the box, but did after I had it pressed.

 

Man, the soundtrack is my favorite thing about wearing corduroy. I guess it's less appealing under these circumstances.

 

In looking at all of these TAT suits, one thing that almost always seems to be the case is that the pants are way too long. Is this just something nobody gets right, a flaw in the production, or is everyone deliberately getting too long / unfinished so that they can be hemmed locally?

It's not too tight. The fabric is just really light and drapey. I have another DB suit, also from TaT, with the same specs but made of heavier cloth and that one doesn't have the pulling effect.

People please get it pressed first, it's not like its that much more trouble to do before asking for an opinion.

What do you mean the fabric is drapey? My understanding is that the reason for the pull is due to the jacket being tight

There are different reasons why a jacket would seem to be pulled. Being too tight is one of them. The fabric being drapey means that it is very soft, even if I were to button it on a hangar with no one wearing it, you would see the pulling effect which is more like tiny ripples. This jacket doesn't "pull" because it's too tight. If the jacket was made of a heavier cloth, it would be fine. Case in point refer to the picture. Same specs, same everything except it's made of a heavier cloth, also from TaT.

I don't know if I can agree with the bold part. Whether the cloth is light or heavy, there should be no pulling, especially if it is not a RTW jacket. IF the excuse is that light cloth pull, I'm inclined to say that the the shape of the jacket isn't right for your body whether the cloth is heavy or light. Most average tailors would prefer to work with heavier cloths because they can hide imperfect areas on the jacket, thus your heavier weight cloth jacket appears to have less pulling. Another reason is the quality control issue with TAT. I also have a jacket made in the VBC130 cloth which has no pulling, however, Jason is remaking the jacket because the armholes measurements were significantly off causing issues in other areas of the jacket. I will post a picture when I get the jacket back.
