And here's some shots of my Edward Green double monks in Navy Shell Cordovan. Now I'll say that these are darker than any Navy shell shoes that I've seen before. They're really only a shade or two off of black. But typically, Navy shell makes up pretty dark. So the Jodphur boot in question for the Fall will still be very wearable, and it won't be a really strong shade of blue.

Imagine these with brown edge trim....
EGs are very nice remind me of VASS U-last. The first shoes have down-market toe-spring=looks cheap.

Yup, we're still totally on time for that mid-April delivery on the snuff suede Austerity Brogues. Can't wait!

The EG's are on the 888 last, which is a little similar to the Vass U. I really like it too.

And I get your note on toe spring, but it's a bit misleading - the Carmina shoes pictured have been worn for several months (and I'm known to be a little forgetful with shoe trees), while the EG's were shot brand new. The Carminas don't look like that out of the box.

Should be getting close to the Snuff Seude brogues. Mid April is two weeks away. It's been in the upper 80's here and my feet can't wait to get into some summer suede!!!

I can't wait!! I've never had suede shoes, is there anything that I need to do special to take care of them? Do I need to apply a protector?

Just spray them with some water proof suede protector and then enjoy. My suedes are among my favorite shoes.

Do we still have any interest in the green loafers? Any idea what last these are on?
I'm very interested but would like to wait until the Austerity Brogues are delivered so that I can see how the rain last fits before ordering another pair. Anyone remember when the Austerity Brogues are to be delivered?

I could be interested. I am going to hit their store in Madrid in one month, so I should have a feel for last suitability at that time.

Yes sir! They left Spain this past Tuesday. Provided we don't hit any customs snags, we should have them here by the end of next week. I'll keep you guys posted.

Some people do, but I personally don't. A simple suede brush will remove most dirt and stains. And you'll want to try and wear them on nice days. If I leave the house in suede shoes and it rains on them a bit later in the day, then it's no big deal. If I know that it's supposed to be lousy outside, then I'll choose something else to wear. Good quality suede is surprisingly durable, but you'll need to treat them with a bit more care than you would a smooth leather shoe.

EDIT: As Mike has pointed out, don't do this with a lined suede shoe.

One caveat, though: these Alden's are unlined suede. I wouldn't recommend doing that with a lined suede shoe as you've got two layers of leather that will get soaked.

You and me both! When these arrive, I promise to shoot a shoe-pornographic "unboxing" video with our DSLR. Can't wait for them.

Absolutely. We'll reach out to everyone once they arrive and find out your shipping/pickup preferences.

If anyone doesn't want their 9.5UK suede austerity brogues, let me know! -- would buy. Dumb of me, of course, to have missed out on the special order.

That's a great point! Edited my post to reflect that.
