Epaulet x Carmina MTO - Page 260

They look like great boots. I've done the same conversion: 10.5E Barrie to 10.5 wide Forest and been very happy with it.

Were trees supposed to come with the hatch grain and kudu jumpers?

Interesting. ^ 8.5D Barrie boots fit me nearly perfectly. 8 regular width Forest is definitely roomier and I doubt I could wear 8.5. Hope to get Kudu boot next time a round is done.

Yes, I'd like to get on the next round of the Kudu boot as well.  But I think I'd rather have the Kudu on the Oscar last as they did on the first run of it.  Think EP went with the Forest on the 2nd run as some folks wanted the wider widths that are not offered on the Oscar.  But I think the Oscar fits the more casual orientation of the Kudu boot than the Forest.

By "11 wide" do you mean "10UK/11US" as indicated on the Epaulet site?

A special order then? My understanding is that all stock shoes are regular width.

There are 5 Carmina special orders that just came in to Epaulet. One was the Kudu jumper. I got a wide width

I got my shipping notice that the WWII boot in scotchgrain has been shipped.  Although the photo of the boots that was posted does indeed show them to be quite gorgeous, I was quite surprised (and maybe somewhat disappointed) at how dark they are.  I know there was a disclaimer about variance and I read Mike's comments on the EP thread but I wasn't quite expecting there to be such a dramatic difference from the example that was provided at the time of the order.  The color was described as "dark caramel".

I'm hoping that they may show up not being quite as dark as in the picture.  I know in the future that I will ask more questions when ordering so I can set my expectations correctly.  Having said all that, I am still incredibly excited to receive my first Carminas.

I've had some private back-and-forths with Mike and Adele over the course of the day...

I feel bad for Epaulet and gang because I'm not sure there was anything they could do to prevent this somewhat extreme colour variance issue.

That said, there are some other prominent retailers on this forum that have been adamant for years that there's only this one (mid-brown, orange-ish) shade of hatch grain.

All in all, I guess this is what one gets for being on the bleeding edge as they say.

(BootSpell, are you an 8UK by chance? Want to trade? shog[1].gif)

...and, with that, I'll speak of this issue no longer.

Sorry, Notreknip, I'm a 7UK. And I might have actually considered trading, too.

Hello Gentlemen, I recently made my first Carmina purchase (will post in Carmina thread). I know that their was an Austerity Brogue in Python done about a year back and regret not buying it when a friend of mine told me it was being done a second time. As I don't know if I'll post often, please, if there is every interest in doing this particular pair again, I'm in. I may consider going straight through Carmina if it doesn't happen in the next year.
