Hurricane Sandy

Hey guys,

Just a heads-up. I'm sure that you're all aware of the hurricane here. We should be fine, but it's possible that our Manhattan store might have to remain closed until the end of the week. Everyone who received shipping confirmations over the weekend - which will be most of you - have their boxes still at our Manhattan store. They have not been picked up by UPS. And they won't be until UPS resumes service in lower Manhattan, which could be Thursday/Friday. If you have a tracking number and it's not updating, then it has not been picked up. I'll post a note here when the boxes physically go out. My apologies for the delay.

Alias - I just sent you an email. We'll of course look to get your order resolved ASAP, but it may take a few days. At the moment we still have power, but my shops will be closed and my staff can't make it to work, so I'm going to need your understanding over this week.

Thanks for getting back to me. Sandy is wrecking things here also, I definitely don't expect a resolution until after things get back to normal!

A very quick try-on suggests the 10.5UK wide is going to be very comfortable. Very pleased to have the opportunity to purchase such a beautiful boot made to order.

Nice bal boot, I am definitely getting them on the next mto "Robert Last"..

Frank - out of curiosity, what size do you take in Barrie?

Just got the calf/suede bal boot in 11.5 wide. Beautiful and honestly, probably the best fitting shoe/boot I own. Is there any chance you can let us wide-footed customers know when you're re-ordering your in-stock shoes (Sinclair, Fitzgerald...)? I would love to be able to add my size to the order.

I know, right? Being able to order wide in the Forest last will be great. Seems as if Mike is on it.^^

10.5E or 11D Barrie.

I also have 10.5UK and 11UK in Forest, both in regular/medium fit, with the former being a little too tight (esp. in lined shell) and the latter being wide enough but a tad longer than I need. The wide fitting in 10.5UK seems like it is going to be the perfect middle road. I hope so. I think this last's shape is really outstanding.

Also want to note I'm pleased about how the sole turned out. Something in the original specs made me think it would be more of the Alden-style 360 degree welt, but it is very sleek and I'm glad to have the Dainite, considering I have plenty of leather soles at this point.

Got my calf/suede and black scotch bal boots today. Boots are beautiful and the fit is great. I don't think I can find boots which are any better.

Will there be a second run on black scotch bal boots?

2. I drove in to my Manhattan store and fetched all of the outgoing boxes there. Provided that UPS & USPS pick up in Brooklyn tomorrow, we'll be shipping all of the paid Balmoral boots. Thanks again for bearing with us on that. And man, driving in Manhattan with no power is crazy. Very few cars. No traffic lights. It's like "Vanilla Sky."

3. Let's absolutely do another run of the Black Balmoral Boot. I shot a whole series of studio photos of them. I'll build out a new item this week for it.

4. For the Forest last, I'm intending to order these three styles for Jan-Feb delivery:

Fitzgerald Cognac Shell Cordovan

Fitzgerald Chocolate Calfskin

Alt Wien Caramel Calfskin

If anyone would like to special order a wide fitting in these, please let me know via PM over the next few days. I can also special order a size smaller than 7UK or larger than 11UK. I'll most likely write the order over the weekend and look to forward it to Carmina on Mon-Tues. Special orders are final sale and 50% deposit with the balance due when the shoes arrive. Thanks!
