I just tried mine on for the first time today. These are honestly the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn in my life. Take that with a grain of salt as I'm new to the world of high(er) end shoes, but I'm thrilled with how these turned out. Whoever it was that described them as "chestnut" in color was dead on. Wearing these makes me mad I didn't pull the trigger on the grey brogues Mike and Co. were selling a ways back, as I'm pretty sure they used the same leather on those.

What last?  Soller???  I'm in depending on the proposed last.

Love these from AS...

With Dainite sole? If so, I'm most likely in (depending on the last).

It's great that a lot of guys are happy about that chukka finally getting rolled out, but I might have to throw a tantrum if we don't get a chelsea or jodhpur in that same leather.

with my luck, the hatchgrain won't be available for us E widths

You know, if I can't get a chukka with Dainite soles, I could go for a chelsea boot instead. I'm not a big fan of jodhpur boots because I find wrapping and buckling the straps a PITA.

My primary need right now is 2 pairs of boots, one casual and one dressy, to wear in rain and slush, but I'm also looking for dressy brown chelsea boots.

I don't own any jodhpurs yet, but do the buckles have to be undone each time, or are they attached with elastic like the upper buckles on Carmina's double monks?

And if I were you, I'd go for a bal boot to fill that dressy boot need. Dainite sole and you're good to go.

I would love a pair of nice, dressy Chelsea boots. Ruby shell on something narrow?

The straps on my John Lobb jodhpurs need to be undone and re-done each time I take them on/off. I think this is true of almost every maker's jodhpur boots. Chelsea boots are much more convenient.

When I say "dressy" boot, I still mean business casual and I prefer something easier to take on and off than a high boot like the typical bal boots I see here and from EG. I'm looking for "dressy" chukkas to alternate with my C&J Tetburys (something a little more sleek than RL MacCallums). Ideally, I'd like a pair of chukkas with Dainite soles and made from ruby shell cordovan, but not many folks here seem interested and I like the hatch-grain leather. I'll eventually order something in ruby shell, but I can be patient...

digs is not allowed a tantrum until this order is fulfilled
