Epaulet x Carmina MTO - Page 207

I know this was a reorder but I was excited when I got these in today. When the first order happened last year I went with the brown suede/chocolate calf version and I really like them but when I saw the black scotch grain I hated that I didn't get both pair. As soon as there was a reorder I jumped on it. Too bad summer is in full swing with temps in the 80's all week. I'm going to go ahead and store these and patiently wait until fall to arrive.

RE: purple boots. Is it only suede that's only available or purple leather as well?

Looks noticeably darker to me too.

Leather, too. Check through the thread album and you should see a pair of purple shoes that were used to show the leather (which I think was called Grape, but that could be wrong).

Interesting. I'd also be interested in a plain purple leather austerity brogue or something simple like that.

I believe it was called Eggplant calf.  Looked similar to vintage rioja G&G.  An austerity brouge boot, or simple stitch captoe would show the color off nicely i think

Does Carmina do anything with zippers?  I've been getting my SW&D groove on more recently, so I'd be interested a Carmina/Epaulet take on the plain black high-ankle/calf-length combat boot.  Maybe full grain horsehide, round toebox, 12-16 holes, gunmetal eyelets, backzip, commando sole, ?side pockets.  Or a light grey calf-length horsehide spiral-zip boot.

Or am I thinking outside of the box too much?

I... have no idea if Carmina does anything with zippers. Instinct says "nyet" but I'll follow up on it in the AM. That said, we did make Earth's ballin'-est Doc boot which might catch your eye if you haven't seen it.

To save you folks the legwork on the purple calf. It's a pretty handsome leather that I think would link crisp as a Greeley.

Those are pretty awesome.  Wish they came in black.

Thanks for the response!

Would be ridiculously badass if something could be done like this, 'cept using purple calf and purple suede.  I think my head might explode.

I really like that purple leather but would think shoes would be more practical and can be worn year round as oppose to the Greely boots. Not saying anything is wrong with the boots because they are gorgeous. My pair is coming in Monday!

I'm on board with the purple leather as a shoe idea. A double monk or some form of cap toe would be my preference. I love the Salinger that Epaulet sells. A version with eggplant calf and gold buckles would be awesome.

I'm also a big fan of Carmina's 3 eyelet derby. I like the idea of a simpler design to let the leather be the focus.

Wore my pythons today and must have had 15 compliments on them.

Interesting that the most recent run turned out much lighter brown than the last one. The contrast shows off more- I love them.

Where does one wear python brogues exactly? Out to the bar? A fancy restaurant?

I imagine that you can wear them almost anywhere you want, with very few exceptions. Nine times out of ten, it's less about your shoes and more about your attitude.
