Based on the number of items claiming to be using hides from that wreck, it must have been a super tanker sized ship.

If you want it to look like eg beaulieau, the Robert and alcudia last most closely resemble the 82 last. Simpson is closer to the 888. Inca and rain are just different IMO

Carmina can do austerity brogues on the Simpson.

There will be less people inclined to buy it on the Simpson. Doesn't fit as many people, being so narrow.

Hey guys,

We just put up three re-orders of past greatest hits on the special order section:

Chocolate Suede & Calf Balmoral Boot Special Order Deposit

Chocolate Suede & Calfskin Jodphur Boot Special Order Deposit

Midnight Calf Balmoral Special Order Deposit

In terms of the turnaround time on these, I'm quoting July-October to allow for Carmina's August break. Like a lot of European manufacturers, Carmina is off most of August, so they tend to send deliveries by the 3rd week or July or in mid September. Good chance that we can get this in July, but if not it will be after August.

Here's some feedback on the other things flying around:

AUSTERITY BROGUE
Looks like the general consensus is for Burnished Burgundy Calf. We'll do a darker brown sole so that this can be a truly conservative dress shoe if need be. I think that we should keep with the Rain last for this style, as that's served us well in the past and many guys are already aware of their fit on that. I'll get this online by the weekend.

ANTELOPE LEATHER
Just waiting on pricing and availability on this, and then we can put together some ideas. This stuff is great!

HATCH GRAIN
Working on this. If Horween makes it, then we should be able to get it.

UPCOMING DELIVERY
A few things are now confirmed for the new delivery (scheduled to arrive in about 10 days)
- ALL of the Greeley Austerity Balmoral Boots
- The Terracotta Lama punched captoe boot (can't wait to see how this made up!)
- The Cognac Python Austerity Brogues

There's a lot more in there as well. I'll get word on the rest shortly and let you guys know as soon as I do.

SOME NEW IDEAS

First off, would you guys consider looking into a Lizard style? Either the double monk or single monk would be pretty boss in this, but nearly any shoe or low boot can be done in lizard. Pricing-wise, it falls between calf and shell. Here's some pics:

There's really three colors to work with: black, dark brown, and a whiskey-ish tan

Next, let's not forget EGGPLANT CALFSKIN! Where else can you get a boss dark purple shoe?

And what would you think of a calf-suede shoe? The Jodphur and the Balmoral boot came out great with this concept. Here's two samples from Carmina's booth, but we could really put together any kind of combo. I really dig how the shortwing came out:

All of these ideas rock. I'm going to buy the Austerity Brogue for sure. If you had it in that insane Red color on Shell, I'd get both.

Rain + dark brown sole sounds great. Same double leather sole used on the Midnight Calf Balmoral as well?

You know you're buying too many shoes when you read one of Mike's upcoming delivery lists, see a shoe that makes you think "Huh that sounds pretty cool, I wish I had heard of that earlier," only to realize that you've already bought it. rolleyes.gif

Mike, what's up with the differences in the lizard patterns based on color? The black has a killer grain, but a black pair wouldn't get as much action as dark brown. Anyway, my vote (still) goes for a lizard Chelsea or Jodhpur.
