So in general is one able to specify different widths for these orders?

That depends on the last. Certain lasts are available in a few widths, and others are available only in their standard width.

^I believe the two Carmina lasts with a wide fitting are Forest and Detroit.

You may want to try PMing Mike at Epaulet or giving one of the shops a call. They will be best able to advise.

I've found it difficult to follow this thread (please forgive me if I am asking a redundant question) -

1) Are the shoes in the Forest last offered by Epaulet able to be preordered in a wide fitting (EEE)?

2) Are any of the other Carmina lasts offered by Epaulet able to be preordered in a wide fitting (EEE)?

I'd love to get involved with some of these preorders but wide fittings seem few and far between

EDIT - I see the most recent replies pertain to this topic, I'll try to figure it out...

I'm not familiar with Carmina - anyone know what lasts are available in a B width?

1) Yes. If you preorder a Forest last shoe or boot from Epaulet, then you can specify a wide fitting. True for either MTO or special order of a restock. If you are interested in a currently stocked Forest last shoe/boot in wide, best to get in touch with Epaulet to see when/if they plan to restock.

2) No.

One point of clarification. Carmina refers to its lasts as E and EE, with Forest being an EE last I believe. However, the EE fit in Forest is the regular fitting, and the wide is something beyond that (never seen it referred to specifically as EEE, though that is logical).

IMO, EE Forest is, at best, a D fit in US sizing.

Forest last fits me personally approximately the way Alden Aberdeen does. I wear an 11.5D or 11E Aberdeen and an UK11 regular fit or UK10.5 wide fit Forest.

Hope I'm not muddying the waters further and I don't necessarily want to portray myself as an expert. All of this is from personal experience.

Use the search function on the site to locate the Carmina Sizing thread. It should have all the information you're looking for.

so is an E forest, a narrow width? I ask bc I my feet are narrow and i typically wear B or C width.
^I don't think so. It's more a regular US medium fit, "D." Others may have feedback on the Carmina lasts that are good for a B or C width. They aren't generally very wide shoes, so I think you ought to be able to find something that fits.

You might try this question over in the regular Carmina thread too.

Standard Forest is standard width; nothing special about the last itself except that it can be ordered in wides.
