Epaulet x Carmina MTO - Page 15

Here are a couple of examples of the Robert last:

and

Seems to be popular in HK.

Best guess from the Carmina website, though, is that the bal boot we've been looking at in the photos is cordovan version of this one on the Forest last (incidentally the only bal boot shown on the website right now):

I don't know if we want Robert or Forest or if they'll even do a bal boot on the Robert. Questions for Mike, I think.

Looks like the jodphur is available on the website in the Forest and Alcudia last. I'm going to guess the blue one is Alcudia.

So, I should probably actually do some work today, though you may have guessed that I find this topic more interesting right now.

Realizing that the bal boot is a way for those of us with more limited need and means to get the ultimate basic. While the jodphur is a way for those who are able to get the ultimate "F U" shoe.
Kind of a great breakdown for this first foray. But I am going to be envious of those who do the jodphur.

Considering the simplicity of the Navy Jodphur, I think we can get it done rather quickly. And since we already have enough interest, I suggest we establish a timeline to completion. My understanding is that the sooner we send the order the quicker we can take delivery.

Apologies if I missed it; do we have direction on prices?

"1k give or take for the shell bal boots." no word on the jodphur

Hey guys, just to chime in:

It's no problem if you all want to make up several boots, and do everything in shell for the first run. The idea of doing a shoe, and doing a model in calf or suede was just a suggestion, I'm totally cool ordering whatever you come up with. Calf or suede is a quick turnaround time anyway, so it's totally realistic to do a second round in February or so and get a May delivery on it. You can use that opportunity to come up with some awesome late Spring-summer styles (white suede double monk with brass buckles anyone?)

I heard from Carmina that they have Navy Shell on the shelf and ready to go, so we should be good for a March delivery on this provided we get the order placed 1st-2nd week of January. I'd have to advise on the other colors when you guys settle on things. I'll meet with them at Pitti in early Jan, so I can hash out the details with them in person.

Shell boots are going to be approx $925 to $1000. I imagine that the jodphur costs a bit less than the bal boot, but I'd have to confirm
Shell shoes from $795 to about $875
Calf/suede boots from $595 to $695
Calf/suede shoes from $525 to $595

Lasted shoe trees can be purchased and included upon request.

I like the look of the robert last, but I've also been recommended the forest last.

I think the shoe people need some direction. I'm fine with the shortwing if people want to pursue it, but here is another idea:

Medallion toe lace up with broguing. This in a loden or snuff suede perhaps on the Rain last?

Here's a picture of Carminas in loden suede:

Also, might not be bad in a cognac or dark brown cordovan. Something like this Vass.

So, are we down with a plain toe Jodphur in either navy or black?

Got two boot forms ready to go:

Cordovan Balmoral

Cordovan Jodhpur

Let me know right away if you see anything that really needs to be changed.

Has anyone been able to id the last on this boot:

Forest or Alcudia are the only two jodphurs listed online but the Alcudia last features the buckle strap we are interested in.

That appears to be either the Rain or the Simpson last. Notice the soft chisel toe and the slight indentation just before the toe slopes downward toward the end of the shoe. No Rain or Simpson jodphur photos on their website, but here are two suede chelsea boots:

Rain:
