2. I drove in to my Manhattan store and fetched all of the outgoing boxes there. Provided that UPS & USPS pick up in Brooklyn tomorrow, we'll be shipping all of the paid Balmoral boots. Thanks again for bearing with us on that. And man, driving in Manhattan with no power is crazy. Very few cars. No traffic lights. It's like "Vanilla Sky."
3. Let's absolutely do another run of the Black Balmoral Boot. I shot a whole series of studio photos of them. I'll build out a new item this week for it.
4. For the Forest last, I'm intending to order these three styles for Jan-Feb delivery:
Fitzgerald Cognac Shell Cordovan
Fitzgerald Chocolate Calfskin
Alt Wien Caramel Calfskin
If anyone would like to special order a wide fitting in these, please let me know via PM over the next few days. I can also special order a size smaller than 7UK or larger than 11UK. I'll most likely write the order over the weekend and look to forward it to Carmina on Mon-Tues. Special orders are final sale and 50% deposit with the balance due when the shoes arrive. Thanks!

Will PM about a special order, but I'll also take this opportunity to ask about a special makeup of the Alt Wien (...pebble grain/burgundy shell...smile.gif not quite sure in what ratios). I imagine this isn't at the top of your to-do list right now, and I suppose I've ended up the same shoe in different colors before... Just thought I'd throw this out there again.

Yeah - now imagine surfing this forum - seeing hundreds of shoes you love, and then realizing there is about a .003% chance they are even made in your size.  It sucks.

I'm 6'8", so I accept that most of the fashion on this site (and everywhere) isn't designed for me, but it really pisses me off that I have such a crap selection of shoes to choose from.  I can always lose weight to fit into a smaller size shirt/jacket/pant, but my damn feet won't shrink.

I am thankful that because of this site I am aware of companies like Whites, Viberg, and Russel Moccasin who will make shoes up to my size.

Hey Mike,
I got my calf/suede bal boots and they are awesome. I have them on presently and love them. Since I know that the Robert last fits so well I will be open to ordering more boots. I'll be in on the Black Scotch Grain for sure!

I believe all the bal boot MTOs are on the Forest last.

Got my Jumper Boot yesterday and its NICE...  Almost ravello'sh in color.

^Agree. Cognac seems to be closer to Ravello than to Cigar. Take note all those looking for Alden Ravello makeups...

Also, post some photos when you get a chance. Hoping Mike reorders these so I can get in with a wide.

I love Salinger Double Monk Burgundy Shell Cordovan, but it run out of my size UK 7.5. Will you bring in anymore of that shoe or something similar? icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Hey guys!

Just checking in with everything. We successfully reopened the Manhattan store this past weekend and we've been able to (mostly) catch up on orders. We shipped out quite a few remaining bal boots and a bunch of other Carminas. Thanks to everyone who ordered! We'll reopen on Tuesday with both stores and full staff back in action, and thanks for bearing with us over the past week.

Haha, you and me both! I've been wearing my pair like crazy. I have a reorder in on that style already - we should get a restock before the year is out.

Ah, unfortunately Carmina doesn't go up that high. But do you live around the NYC area? If so, I can recommend two custom MTM cobblers that you might want to check out.

I have customers come through with your large sizes, very small sizes, very wide fittings, etc. all of the time. It's more common than you think. But having a custom pair made is always an option. It's certainly expensive, but if you own 2-3 pairs of solidly crafted, goodyear-welted shoes, and you take care of them, that original investment will really pay off. It's something that you may want to look into some day.

OK, so the Black Scotchgrain bal boot is psychotically nice. We all couldn't believe how great it made up. I'm not someone who personally likes black boots, but these just blew me away. You guys made the exact right call with that.

Let's get another order rolling so we can deliver these in the early Spring. These will be great for those rainy, still-cold days. What do you guys think of running this boot on two lasts: the Forest and the Robert. It's a bit crazy, but if we have enough people interested in the style, we might be able to swing it. The guys who need wide-fittings or like higher toe boxes can opt for the Forest last, and the guys who like the shape of the Robert can get that one. We can certainly give it a shot and see if we get enough orders to do both styles.
