Epaulet x Carmina MTO - Page 86

I'd REALLY like an austerity brogue in plain black calf. I know it's a boring thing to do for a MTO, but it would also be beautiful and quiet, which is what you want sometimes.

This if it was a balmoral would be awesome.   I think Mike said he was going to chocolate brown austerity brogues in October.  Black would be nice too.

Another Idea would be a burgundy calf balmoral wingtip, or the Ellison captoe in navy calf.  I'm in for any balmorals...

^ I fucking love that C&J boot. 360 last. That would be an awesome makeup

I hadn't even thought of an austerity brogue bal boot. That would be lovely, and I'd probably be down for it.

^ that would awesome. What I like about the C&J is that its open lacing and yet it looks really dressy

That would be amazing!

Black with Dainite soles?  Would be perfect for winter in NYC.  Cognac shell would be nice too...

YES!
Although I think Mike said Cognac was tight for the rest of 2012.
I vote Black Calf with classic Dainite or Burgundy Shell with York Dainite but I'm not completely opposed to other materials, I'd just prefer something dark. Balmoral all the way, flat welt... speed hooks or all eyelets?

Is the York Dainite the sole with some leather showing between the ball and heel?

Also, seeing as this shoe is taking a really "functional" route, speed hooks would probably be a logical choice.

York - Yes has partial leather showing.  My understanding is its a bit thicker and gives a brown edge.  I would prefer the Classic Dainite... Speed hooks sound good to me.  I think previous posters mentioned the Carmina's speed hooks are really minimal and dont mess wth your trousers at all.

I wore a pair of Carmina boots all the time this past winter and spring, and not a single time did a hem snag on the speed hooks. I think they're mandatory for taller boots.

That made me search for 744, and I found something on Leffot's website.  Looks like they are taking preorders.

Ahh, I didn't realize the York was thicker, I remember earlier in the thread Namor commented on how pleasantly thin the dainite was but he was likely talking about the classics. As long as we keep the material dark I don't have an issue with the classic dainite.

So...
Style: Austerity Brogue Balmoral Boot
Sole: Classic Dainite
Welt: Flat
Lacing: Eyelets then speed hooks at top

Last:?
Leather: All one or Mixed Media?

Last - I would like to see the adelaide or the simpson last.  Both look very elegant.

Leather - All one, or maybe suede on the top part of the boot...adds some extra flavor, but you wont be able to see it unless your trousers are severe highwaters...
