Mike - Do you plan on carrying a Carmina black calf wingtip (short-wing) anytime soon?

New Carmina for Epaulet Styles

Hey guys,

We just received two exclusive Carmina styles into the shop. We are IN LOVE with them!

Back in January at Pitti, I sat down with Betty & Antonio to plan out how we can introduce Horween Chromexcel into our co-branded line. I'm sure that you guys know this leather well, and I'm a huge fan of it. Although most of Carmina's business is in elegant dress shoes, I thought that it would be cool to take their production capabilities in a beefy, casual direction as well. The result is a tough-as-nails style that retains its refined shapes and really stands out from the pack. I'm thrilled with how they came out:

Carmina for Epaulet Faulkner Shortwing in Natural Chromexcel: $525

Carmina for Epaulet Steinbeck Wingtip boot in Brown Chromexcel: $595

are we still moving forward with a midnight navy wholecut shoe?

What about a gray calf brouge?

Hey All,

I would like to include a carmina mto suggestion. How about the steinbeck wingtip boot, as recently released in brown cxl, but in burgundy cordovan - same as the recently releases double monk straps.

I would be ready to move forward with such a boot if we could get the required critical mass.

Thoughts?

My Jodhpur order is in! Not sure whether I'm more excited about this or the scotch grain bal boot.

I checked out the Steinbecks in the store today and they look fantastic. Very tempting but I think I'm all boot-ed up this year with these special orders. I was tempted by the snuff suede double monks though. How'd you run out of a UK9 so quickly?!

was thinking about preordering the navy jodphurs, but ive never worn boots with suits before and just unsure.  Someone needs convince me that I should order them for this winter.  As of now I rotate between black edward green captoes on the 82 last, c&j chestnut malverns on 348 last, burgundy ferragamo tramezzas, and brown magnannis.  Not sure if I should buy some more basics before going down the navy road...

sounds like you have the basics covered man...time to have some fun.

I wear boots with suits and more formal clothing all the time. Carmina lasts are perfect for them. They should be versatile. Refer to NAMOR's post: http://yolowastaken.tumblr.com/post/26180542031/what-to-wear-with-navy-colored-shoes

The Steinbeck and Faulkner are as close as CXL has ever come to working with a suit, no?

So, would you wear them with a suit?

I'm thinking along those lines as well - chromexcel seems to lend itself to a more casual shoe.
