The more I hear about this Midnight Jodhpur, the more excited I become to see the mockup 

I believe this is what we came up with.

Some people preferred the grey strap others navy, I'm ok with either.

Yup, I'll get this going next week. We've got time, Carmina is closed for their holiday until August 15th or so anyway.

Agreed, the Rain last is going to look best on this style. I use that for our Chelsea boots, and it's a perfect match.

Ok, so we're all set on the Midnight Calf, classic Dainite, dark edge trim, & Rain last.

One thing to run by you guys. There's actually two patterns for a Jodphur at Carmina:


Let's call this the "Cross Strap" Jodphur. On this style, the bottom of the strap is going to be visible when you walk.


This is the more traditional design. Let's call it the "Top Strap" Jodphur. You basically never see the strap unless you're seated with your legs crossed. Or you're breakdancing.

In terms of Navy vs Grey suede straps, I'm thinking that the Navy Strap will work better on the Cross Strap (where it's more visible) and the Grey suede strap will work better on the Top Strap Jodphur (where it's more hidden). What do you guys think?

Personally, if I was commissioning this boot, I'd go with the Cross Strap style as it's more unique and I'd match a navy strap to it. Navy suede is actually going to contrast with the midnight calf quite a bit - it won't be completely tonal. The midnight is a lot darker, and I think that those two materials will play off themselves beautifully, while still allowing this boot to be easily matched to a range of trousers and dressed up.

Cross with Navy Strap gets my vote

+1 on the navy suede cross strap.

Mike - Thanks for the update on the wholecut. I'm gonna pass this time as I decided to go with the Fitzgerald shortwings in cognac. Are the Carmina belts and shoe trees coming with the next shipment? I'm looking forward to that saddle shell belt to match my captoe oxfords.

I'm in for a navy strap. Just having a hard time picturing the gray.

I used photoshop to simulate the midnight calf and navy strap. The sole for our makeup will be classic dainite with a black edge finish - just like on the Black Scotchgrain bal boot. And the last will be Rain - which will be a tiny bit more chiseled than the one pictured (image is on the Alcudia last), but basically look very similar.

For the Jodhpur? I would love that, but I'd prefer it with a leather sole, considering that the Midnight Jodhpur will have a Dainite sole.
