I really think I have a problem v. shoes

+1. Same here. I just buy and hide them on my bag when come home. If the item doesn’t fit in my bag …then I just leave them on the boot of my car. Wait for a perfect time when she’s not at home and that’s it !! lol. Sometimes she said when did you buy this ?!! My answer always the same “ The last time remember …. We went together…….” She -“oh…you have too many I lost track ….”
Plus inside some of my shirts/jackets there are more shirt/jackets (double stacked) so they look less for obvious reason.
Yeah mate… if you have no problems with your partner just buy them !

I've sized down to a UK 6.5 on those lasts. Do you find that your foot runs wide or narrow?

Asian Afro,
I do have an extra pair of Bally Scribes that would fit a full US 8.5/8.75.

My feet are pretty normal, I think, but perhaps wider than yours.

I've bought an average of one to two pairs of shoes since I was about 18, which was about 20 yrs ago. And since I've taken good care of them, they're all still in service (except running shoes) . But I don't want to have a ton of shoes, so for the past few years I've been giving away an older pair for every new pair I get. That helps prevent over-accumulation, simply because I keep the same amount of shoes and I have to decide what to get rid of when I'm contemplating a new pair. And since I like having old things, that can be tough.

But that's me. I'm not saying everyone should do that.

FWIW, I'm putting it out here in public. I'm done with buying shoes. After buying a pair of brown cap toed oxfords from another SF member, I think my collection is now complete for my needs (10 pairs) For awhile there, I felt like I was addicted - bought one pair because it was a bargain rather than how it could be used in my collection. That one's up for sale now ... Nearly bought another for the same reason but stopped myself.

I've just gone into ebay, deleted my shoe searches and I'm going to enjoy wearing what I have now.

My view is that if you enjoy them, can afford it and have the space then go for it. If it's more the thrill of the chase and immediately thinking about the next pair as soon as you've bought one pair then step back and take a break.

those martegannis look weird without a cap

the front of the shoes suggest wholecut or single strap

looks really odd with the blucher flaps there

There are just sooo many shades and variations of brown. Its hard to say you've got them all covered, but your point is well taken. What really trips me out is the people that pick up like 4 pairs of MTO G&G at a time.

Hmm, while a whole cut or a cap toe may look better, I still really like them, especially the color.

This is very true. I'm still missing more suede shoes (loafers, oxfords), cordovan (loafers, ptbs and wingtips), a brown blucher, a brown semi brogue, lace up boots and others but what I've decided is that some shoes can substitute for others and that's good enough for me. Nothing to say I can't live vicariously through other people's purchases

That said, the color of the Martegannis is pretty damned nice!

Same here. Bought them about 5 years ago and have absolutely loved them. I would suggest sizing down a half-size as well. Unfortunately, mine don't get as much use now that I work in a very casual environment. In addition to wearing as a dressier blucher, I think they look great with denim.
