women's scarf choice ... yeah wrong forum

hmm
dunno if you guys will be of any help but..
trying to decide on a gift for the gf
peachcashmerewrap.jpg vs. 408145_A711_LF_HFX?op_sharpen=1&rgn=0,0,2000,3000&scl=5.882352941176471
the peach one is 100% cashmere
80" long, 24" wide

the striped one is
30% cashmere/70% wool blend
75" L x 8"W

price difference is negligible (one was 30% off on top of a price reduction, the other was almost 40% off)
but the peach cashmere is the "better buy" as it's less than half of the starting retail price
i ordered both for now ... and then going to decide which one after they arrive
i feel like the peach one will probably be nicer, being 100% cashmere and it's bigger, a true wrap
the striped scarf will be cuter and easier to wear whenever, even casually...

yeah already have other stuff prepared for her... like some l'occitane lotion and lip balm... a meaningful book ... plus gotta write her a nice card

The first one, hands down.

The second one looks like it should go with some sort of weird nautical costume.

Um.. maybe it's because I'm a girl, the peach one reminds me of a towel?!

 

What color is your gf's skin? If she has fair to light skin I think the peach is great but if she has darker or olive tone skin I would stay away from the peach and go for the striped one.

she's not pale... but she's not dark

once i receive the scarves, i think i will bring them to work and hold them up next to some of the girls who work here to see how it looks in person
hopefully they won't freak out or misunderstand

i'm having a tough time deciding...
just received the blue/white striped one today because it had been out of stock

they both feel very nice
the peach is bigger, thinner, softer - all cashmere
the blue/white is a looser weave - cashmere mix
i think the blue/white will be easier to wear... easier to match

i may just have to take them to work tomorrow and hold them up against the females in the office to get a better idea
because holding it up against myself isn't really helping
