The importance (or lack thereof) of coordinating the belt and the tie.

Happy December folks!!! Hope you are all doing splendidly. I have a very important event to go to tonight so I want to make sure I'm looking my best.

I thought I'd bring up an interesting discussion point. on ties and belts, do you have to be cognizant of the interplay between the tie color and belt/shoe color? In searching other threads, there wasn't much discussion on how cognizant you have to be on tie coordination with the belt shoes.

I have this Navy suit, and I was going to wear this navy/blue/purple striped to with it. But I was also hoping to wear cordovan/burgundy shoes with this belt. What do you guys think? Better off going black? The Belt is a bit darker in person than it shows up on the camera.

Also, as a bonus question, I can either put a soft/light blue shirt with it or a soft purple with it, is one better than the other? The shirt color doesn't show up great in the pic, but here's the soft/light purple with the tie.

Don't be shy, any thoughts on either of these questions would be tremendously appreciated.

I personally don't wear belts, but the reason to have the same colour shoes and belt is to look neat

I would suggest not to wear a belt because your belt is going to clash with the shoe, they are going to show up

p.s. not too be mean but can you use another tie, I am not a fan of it, looks very primark

Thanks so much for the input, the belts and shoes will match, was more wondering if the belt conflicts with the tie. I understand you aren't a huge fan of the tie, but I love it and I usually go with what I love even if it may not be ideal to others.

But on the belt/shoes...I can't decide if the burgundy makes me uncomfortable with the tie and if black would be better.

Any opinions on the shirt, light blue or light purple as shown in the pic?
