Turnbull & Asser on my credit card statement?

I was trying to work out why they appeared on my statement, I thought someone had committed fraud against me so I contacted the bank and explained I had not made a purchase there. After logging a report a friend mentioned my new shoes cost the same amount. I bought them from C&J.

Can anyone help with the mystery? Are they the same company?

The Crockett & Jones shops in London and New York are franchises and operated by Turnbull & Asser (or their parent company). The C&J shop in Paris is also a franchise, but is run by different people.

Crockett & Jones (the Northampton shoe manufacturer) is not involved in retailing.
