Company Christmas party question..

Alright, been here for years, but never posted until now, so here goes..

The company Christmas party is next weekend. The dress is not formal, but also not business casual. Most will be in suits. I, being different than others, want to wear a powder blue tux jacket that I have had in the closet and never get to break out. Would it be acceptable to wear with a nice white button up and leave the bow tie behind? Below I will attempt to place an image of a pic of the exact jacket I have... (Not me in pic) Would this be alright to wear without the bow tie and vest to try and make it a bit more casual? I have nice satin stripe black tux pants, and shined up oxfords. Any suggestions? Should I just wear the tie and vest as well? If so, the matching blue tie, or black? I have both.

OK, I see that I should go back to lurking the buy/sell forum. I do not post because I do not feel like I have the sense of style most on this forum have. Posting this question with numerous views and no replies just confirmed that for me. Thanks for viewing.

Is the party at night? I'm not sure that's the right colour for an evening party.

I wouldn't wear that in any of your mentioned combinations. Go with a suit. I hope this helps.

Why in the world is that jacket so long and completely straight at the bottom?

I wore a navy suit with white shirt and navy BB tie with snowmen on it. I got tons of comments on it. If you're looking to differentiate yourself from the crowd, often something as subtle as that will do it.

If you wear that to the party be prepared to be photographed gratuitously and subsequently made the butt of the emailed jokes that will circulate afterward.

That is fucking horrible. The only time a powder-blue tux should ever be worn is if you're going to a 70's-themed fancy-dress party, and even then you would want one that is actually cut like a proper tuxedo and not this awful, long, squared-off abortion of a coat.

I'm not going to suspect you of trolling. But c'mon, man. Seriously?

P.S. If you are trolling, hats off for the dedication.

Burn this tux with fire. Or at the very least don't wear it to your company's Christmas party unless you want to be hearing about it (in a bad way) for the rest of your employ at that company.

It is a dreadful looking garment best burned as suggested by unbelragazzo.

It is not something that you would wear in oublic as most people with form an adverse of opinion of it and then you. they will talk about you for years but not in a kind way.

OP, sorry but ... "That's turrible"

The words 'powder blue' and 'tuxedo' should never be used in the same sentence if you are referring to something you are thinking of wearing. Please follow the advice of the above posters and re-think this whole idea.

Hahaha, finally. Some substance. Thank you for saving me from the humility that was sure to ensue. I will wear my Zegna. I appreciate the honesty, and will reconsider my lack of posting intrepidity.
