How does this equal the diversity you speak of? Or do you merely consider diversity to mean "not white".
Diversity is overrated and in Portland, it doesn't matter much because any diverse (racial, anyway) populations tend to stick to pretty predictable areas of town. Portland is very well known for its artsy hipster unemployed culture (Portlandia is only mildly exaggerated), so if you are moving and aren't worried about a job, you'll fit right in. About as much different as I can think of from Florida and you can't get much farther away in the Lower 48.
