Seeking a pair of leather footwear to wear with shorts

I obviously cannot wear a dress shoe such as the black oxford captoe (the only dress shoe i have), can someone suggest some leather footwear to wear with shorts (no sandals please). thanks!

Depends on the occasion you're wearing the shorts.

Moccasins or boat shoes are possibilities.

If you are doing some serious hiking, then hiking boots perhaps.

for casual wearing and every day wear

so far we got loafers and boat shoes and moccasins, any other suggestions?

any pictures?

why is not acceptable to wear dress shoes with shorts, will save me the trouble of buying another pair of shoes, hard to have a minimalist closet if i am always buying new things

If I'm going to wear shorts with leather shoes I mostly grab my suede moccasins
suede loafers usually with lightweight summer pants, but depending on the shorts & occasion, can also work


just wondering - what's wrong with canvas chucks/jack purcells and the likes? puzzled.gif

What's wrong with shorts? Some of the forum members are just plain weird. Buy yourself a pair of suede Tod's (Arfango, Gucci, whatever) moccasins and wear them in the summer.

My go-tos are drivers, penny loafers and horse bit loafers. I have Tod's in blue suede, AE Kenwood in cigar shell and Gucci in oxblood calf for the three, respectively. All look great with shorts.

i live in toronto it gets insanely hot here in the summer shorts are mandatory.
