help: does this fit?

I got this shirt as a gift, I'm pretty unaware of how a shirt like this should fit (maybe it's ok as something that's always worn with a jacket overtop, or under a sweater/cardigan, but to me the shoulders especially seem messed up). I guess what I'm wondering is am I exaggerating what I see as a lack of fit, or is it ok? I know it isn't perfect, but I can settle for "pretty good", especially on a shirt given as a gift.

Thanks. But with this style should it always be worn with a sportscoat or something? It doesn't look right on its own to me.

A sport coat or sweater would certainly tone it down and improve the overall appearance, yes.
What compliments you best is the solution.
