Yes, you're restated the premise, but have provided no substantive reason why.... most "airplane" novels (Dan Brown, John Grisham, etc.) are written using 3rd grade vocabulary and grammar and they are not educational. Not sure why this would expand my mind more than an episode of "How I Met Your Mother"

Hey, I only repeat other people's stupid bullshit. Why can't we use electronics on airplanes? Why are women crazy? Nobody has answers for any of this shit.

I really don't watch TV much to begin with and could probably live without the internet but totally addicted to email though.

I cannot live without my smartphone though. Closest I've been to no internet and TV was on vacation with my folks.

Sure, I've done without both.... in 2002. Long fucking time ago.

Shit I almost forgot, I've also lived without any TV during the past 2 years, while in grad school. I did that because I didn't want to kill my schoolwork. I wouldn't call it a "Digital Cleanse" like you are suggesting.

But if you enjoy sports of any kind, you lose out on a lot of free entertainment in glorious HD if you forgo TV. If you hate cable companies, rabbit ears gets you all the relevant games in full resolution. During the last 2 years without TV, I would watch illegal streams on a pathetic laptop or go to sports bars. Can get expensive if you add it up.

I don't believe "TV is dumb" or "Reading a piece of paper is sooo much more enriching". Serious? Fuck that. Read wherever the fuck you are comfortable. If you need to self-restrict in order to not binge, then take whatever measures you need to, I guess.

I'm on the fence about whether I would pay $80 a month for cable TV, but internet and a HD tv are not evil things IMO.
