Colored Selvedge Lines?

I like to think I know a lot about raw denim and selvedge but I know in reality I do not... I was wondering if anyone out there has or has seen a catalog of who manufactures selvedge jeans that are not red lined? Most of my jeans are red line selvedge and I'd really like to see what else is out there. I know I've seen pink (I think), yellow (i think), blue (RRL) but I can't remember where and who made them, except for the blue line. I'd love to know exactly who makes selvedge jeans that are not red-line?

Dude, WTF!?! The cimosa can be any color you want.

Denim mills can make it whatever colour or pattern they want...there really isn't much point in documenting it.

It's just an ID, it's a way for the mill or the cut/sew factory to identify the fabric without having to tag it.

Interesting, I never knew that it had no significance. Thanks for the responses.

I was wondering about this, too.

In some jeans descriptions one can read as one of the special points something like "green selvage". I think I even read "wonderful green selvage". I wondered what's the deal.

Isn't the main point that the denim is woven on an old mill and thus has a more irregular texture? What color the piece of clothes on the outside of the denim cloth is doesn't really make a difference to me.

Some guys who are about to launch a denim company showed me a special rainbow selvedge that a mill had made up for themselves. They were given a small piece. It was a fun accent and an interesting way to differentiate from other denim. It didn't have a workwear look, but it did look nice. I could see denim junkies needing one for their collection.

Samurai has used gold/silver, Paul Smith uses rainbow-y multi-colored selvedge, SDA uses Bleu-Blanc-Rouge

The pair I'm wearing now has plain selvedge :P

To me the important thing is the cotton and how the fabric was woven - the selvedge colour is but a minute consideration if the rest of the denim is up to scratch. Otherwise, IMO, it's all flash and no substance.

For what it's worth (not a lot) Creep use white selvage with a rainbow thread running up it.
