I absolutely love Diptyque Tam Dao -- its very woody, musky, and manly, and aside from friends I've recommend wear it, I've known another man to wear it. It's really a steal as well (I think its like £70 a bottle -- dunno in US). Unlike the fashion label scents which generally mix synthetic and natural ingredients, all of the ingredients are naturally sourced so it smells very organic.

I also wear Sartorial by Penhaligons (another great value), Green Vetiver by Creed (i presume more expensive -- cannot remember), Acqua di Parma (under 100 i think), Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, AND Versace Blue Jeans if I'm feel nostalgic and a bit pervy.

I wear cologne everyday, and have noticed that better quality colognes lose their scents over time and for this reason (if you're on a budget) I suggest buying one at a time rather than a buying samples and rotating them (or tiny bottles of a few).

Fuck what a long post.

Short story: find Diptyque -- beautiful scents.

My all-time favorite scent is Creed bois du Portugal, but it can be overpowering in the Summer. I've also gotten a few compliments on JPG Le Male.

Ummm... Terre d' Hermes is full of orange notes.

I have to disagree with a previous post. Terre d'Hermes is a great fragrance and last quite a long time, especially in the Pure Perfum concentration. I still haven't run into anyone wearing it and I'm in contact with professionals all day, every day.

BTW, Creed Bois du Portugal is a fantastic fragrance in the cold of winter, but I agree that it is too much for the summer months.

Perhaps I should have been more specific: I get bitter orange from TdH and I'm looking for something a little cleaner and more distinctively orange, perhaps for layering.

Agreed, TdH is an earthy orange and I wouldn't call it "clean".

The Hermes Eau d'Orange Concentre is supposed to be quite good and lasts more than the original, but still may not be enough.

Cartier recently introduced a flanker to their fresh Eau de Cartier with fresh orange notes but I've not sniffed it. I believe it is Cartier Eau de Cartier Essence Orange. As with the Hermes line, if it is offered in a concentree version, that will generally have more longevity.

If I had a $100 to spend on cologne, I'd use it on a night with a Costa Rican hooker. I can get free scents from store testers. rimshot.gif

Did anyone suggest a new $100 bill liberally applied about the head and neck? When you've extinguished the scent from it, you simply turn it in for another crisp bill and repeat.biggrin.gif
