Cleaning polyester

Thread Starter

So, I understand reading those little cleaning labels makes sense, but I just noticed something and I'm a bit confused. I have a few pairs of pants made of 100% polyester, but one says dry clean only. Are there different forms of polyester, or am I just simply missing something here?

That polyester trouser is probably "dry clean only" because of other, non-polyester materials used in the construction of the trouser. For example, the materials used in the construction of the waistband.

Don't buy anything made from this material is the best solution: Consider replacing those that you have. It has no place in clothes manufacture.

this is BS so i had to respond. a poly blend for socks will wick moisture away, same thing with underwear. 100% cotton isn't exactly the best unless you like soaking in your own sweat. so if you are not going with 100% wool, a blend of different fibers (poly, cotton, spandex) might be desirable depending on the type of clothing.

I have a couple of *very* lightweight Poly windbreakers / jackets which are a God send in hot / rainy climates.
