Anticipating Summer: Wardrobe additions - Page 2

^I don't know if you can buy rtw stuff in fresco. You might. Generally on SF frescos are thought to be from Minnis (Fresco), H&S (Crispaire -which has changed somewhat i'm told by Slewfoot and Despos), Smiths (Finmeresco), the LL (Brisa, which is made by a firm whose name I forget), and the rare cloth from now-defunct, iirc, Woodhouse. But there are other manufacturers who make porous fabrics. And there's a good chance that somewhere, someone is making rtw in it. (Maybe Ringjacket at the Armoury?) There's even some chance it's being made in one of the fabrics named above.

I think there's some truth to that. The texture would depend somewhat on the weave of the wool/linen cloth. A wool/linen blend would resist wrinkles better than an all-linen one but worse than all wool. But wrinkles aren't always a problem. Other differences imo include that linen tends to be cooler than wool, a little heavier, and to require cleaning more often.

Brisa is made by Lovat Mill, special LL order only, at £100/m. Michael Alden may have some yardage left.

Charles Tyrwhitt now has a "travel suit" made of high-twist hopsack wool which may approximate Fresco.

I'll be going through NsM, so it'll likely be Minnis...for some reason the idea has come to me to get peak lapels...I'm chewing it over
