I'm looking to get a new overcoat and I'm having a b*tch of a time deciding, partly because I really do not know what brands make what is considered good quality coats and I'm not sure if I should be buying something from a store/retail or taking the risk on ebay.
I'm looking for single breasted, black, dark grey or dark navy and preferably full length. My budget is ~$600 or less thought I'd possibly be willing to go a little over if it's worth it. In general I prefer to pay for higher quality rather than higher fasion. Along this same line I prefer it not be too trendy, I plan on wearing it for years.
Here's one from Barneys of NY co-op which looks nice, but again, I have no idea about quality.

I had looked on Hugo Boss website but tbh the stratus didn't quite do it for me. Here's a Hugo Boss Colombo in grey, "new" on eBay (it ended today w/o sale, pretty sure he will just relist).

Canali for Bloomingdales Proposta 4 button in black, "new" on ebay:
I also have looked at this much cheaper coat from Lauren by Ralph Lauren
any thoughts on these or possible alternatives would be great.
Thanks,
Chris
