Has anyone used an Ebay selling assistant?

Curious if anyone tried a local Ebay consignment seller? They have an Ebay seller assistant program where you can find a certified one through the site.

I'm tempted to use a local one b/c I have a ton of unused clothing etc. that I need to get rid of but I can't find the time to do so.

Only drawback is they charge ~ 35% but they pay the fees for ebay/paypal. Doesn't seem like a horrible deal since the ebay/paypal fees are usually 15-20%, so basically I'd be giving up another 15-20% not to deal with the time and hassle of answering questions, dealing with shipping. etc.

What do you guys think?

My feeling is that you should first try to sell a couple of items on your own (lower risk items that you won't miss too much if something goes horribly wrong) to get a better idea of what is involved. Then, you'll be in a better position to assess the value of a third party's service.

I'm curious about this as well, have a BNIB pair of cap toe Testoni's that I need to unload, but I've never tried ebay...

I have tried this. My first attempt was not very successful. Not only do they take a big commission, the seller I used settled for a significantly lower price than I could have gotten on my own. Next time I'll just go it alone.

I would first post it on B&S forum, then if noone is interested use same pics and post on eBay. It really isn't that difficult to list things, and using a middleman just makes the profit margin of $ less for you since they'll take a fee themselves.

eBay is ok. some stuff definitely moves better on ebay than on B&S.
