Parkas with Real Fur Hoods

The Canada Goose Chateau parka that I purchased last week is too small for me and I've since returned it via post. The retailer where I bought it no longer has any other sizes in stock and since I paid less than retail for the coat (employee/friend hooked me up), I'm not looking to buy it elsewhere for more than I originally paid for it.

Curious what other SF members potentially own with respect to a parka with real fur (not interested in faux fur). And yes, I want fur on my hood. It's invaluable during super cold days.

Ideal max for spending would be $500 American. I'm aware that I might have to wait until post-Xmas to find something at that price.

toj fishtail has real fur (fox?), think it's around 500 usd. I have one and can recommend it, pretty warm in itself and since it's supposed to fit kinda oversized there's more than enough room for a thick sweater or whatever when it gets really cold. I've used it in like -20C and was nice and toasty

Krane. It's not cheap, but I think that they are having their 20% off right now (www.kranedesign.com). Brigade (www.clothingbrigade.com) also have a sale on the same. You've missed the 40% off period, but you can get 25% off, which pulls things somewhat within reach.

J-Pia in Japan (Rakuten USA) offers a Spiewak USA made N3B parka with a real coyote fur hood. Mine just arrived from Japan on Saturday and it'll be available for pickup at the post office first thing Monday morning. I only hope it fits.

No fur hood parkas on Krane and the only one on Brigade I'm not feeling. Thanks though.

No. I do have a three year old Merino Wool Chilliwack bomber jacket from CG I bought for a killer price this month. I like the fit. I haven't tried the CG Ontario parka.

I picked up the Japan Spiewak N3B parka this morning. My Japan size 40 is generously cut and feels and fits like an American size 42. I'm 5'7" and have a 42" chest - the slim cut of the parka is like it was made for me but then I'm on the small side like the typical Japanese man it was made to fit. Its USA made, has a real coyote fur ruff and its all nylon with polyester insulation in the body and sleeves and acrylic lining in the hood. Its closed by toggle buttons for storm flap protection. Its rated to -40 F below zero which makes it the ultimate winter parka!

Fishtail parkas are not as warm as the N3B parkas. My guess would be they are more versatile since the liner can be removed to make them a three season parka while the N3B is strictly an extreme cold weather parka.

That's a beautiful coat. It looks a bit like a long wool coat with a fur trim hood.

Stupid questions but how are those front string pieces supposed to be worn? Straight down?

I bought it from this store. $500 cheaper than Spiekwak's USA stock version. So it isn't wood pile? Its still plenty warm!
