(And yes, I realize I'm trolling Jr. Mouse here.)

I'm wondering what everyone's opinion of the following video is:

I saw the video and thought Bill Nye came off looking like a tool. Despite not having any firsthand experience of the matter, and despite not even having any alternative hypothesis accounting for what they saw, he nonetheless has no problem telling everyone else that they're in error.

And yet, reading the comments on the video, the commenters are in near unanimous agreement that Nye pwned the other guys.

Am I missing something here?

I think both Nye and Jacobs both come off a bit as tools. Nye's opening bit with the redacted documents contributed to this, but Jacobs's statements about Nye making something with baking soda and vinegar came off as childish. I'm not sure if Jacobs was referring to King or Nye as "Mr. Comedian."Jacobs didn't defend his position without getting much too flustered, and comes off looking like a bit of a tool from that. I'd hesitate to say either party was pwned though.

Humanity has not been visited by Aliens. As I have demonstrated in other threads, if aliens were here they would have only one objective - complete and utter annihilation. They would not waste time doing it quietly or in secret. They would lay waste to us in mere seconds. Ergo, there are no aliens here.

This is the exact kind of discussion I don't want to have. I wanted to have a thoughtful discussion about whether all skeptics are turdwipes, without getting sidetracked into peripheral issues like whether or not we've been visited by space aliens.

The exact opposite is true, Nye comes off as the least toolish person on the video.
