How can you tell that his shoulders are too wide?

OP, you should post better pictures if you want an accurate assessment of your fit. There's no reason why your pictures have to be so small.

because in the back and front pictures you can obviously see the jacket distending over the natural shoulder....

You kinda goofed, but I don't want to tell you that. That's a lot of money to spend on one suit at the age of 17... not just because of the money for your age, but you'll still be growing. You had the right idea of coming here, but you should have come here before you bought it nod[1].gif.

Big time. You should have done your research as 1.6k is no small sum.

Apart from the "better suits can be had at that price" notion that you'll definitely get. The suit is not that flattering. It has no shape.

Okay, i guess I should have done more research. But what other alternatives are there for my size (35) in Canada? I already went to numerous suiting shops like Brooks Brothers, D&G and Harry Rosen. As well, is it possible for the suit to be let out in the future and if so, how much would that cost?

17 and you are investing $1.6k in a suit altered from size 36 to size 34.5.

You have wasted someone's money grand style.

The coat appears more like an overcoat in length, the buttining looks wierd: The quarters refect an over coat as well closed to th extent one would think that there was a button provided. Shoulder probabl;y too wide as well.

Was this altered by a curtain maker - no one who knows what they are doing has been remotely near this garment.

And you have spared us the trousers thankfully.

If you have this sort of money to burn on crap then presumably you can start agaoin - that would be the best way forward.

If there is a next time can I suggest bigger photograhs showing the whole suit not these silly little things.

Whether or not the suit can be let out depends on how much material is available in the seams.
Impossible to tell without examining the jacket. Cost depends upon the amount of labor involved
and the particular tailor.

I'm afraid tailoring it down to your size would make it difficult to bring back to a size you might grow into. It is probably best to get a $300-500 suit, have that tailored down to your size, then throw it away.

Try using the search function on here, there was a thread for small suit sizes - 36 and below specifically. Also you can find H&M 34Rs on eBay for $200 or less, not saying they are great suits or great quality - just for the time being as a filler suit until you grow into a new size, if that ever happens. There are also other size 34 suits on eBay, just need to look around for the good ones.
