Ties and Kitty Litter (oh yeah...)

So, something horrible happen. So shockingly bad you'll cry. Yesterday I was rushing to get dressed, and my rolled up tie (nothing too expensive, thankfully) managed to roll in a kitty litter box. I needed to improvise because I think this is a nice tie, I like it. So, what do I do? Dabbled around on it some hand sanitizer then a few coats of disinfectant. It looks beautiful now and also smells awesome. So, that's my sad story for the day. Glad it wasn't like an Armani or something.

Sadly no pics. I was flipping out for real. I have an issue with stuff like this happening so it was pretty crazy.

So why not just brush off the tie? Kitty litter is supposed to clump and absorb dampness, right? All you would need to do is brush it off and be on your merry way.

If you were concerned about germs, remember that ties are germ magnets since they're exposed regularly and absolutely never washed. There's a reason many hospitals prohibit doctors from wearing them, you wouldn't have added too much of a hazard to what already exists.

In the future, if you need to sanitize, dilute some rubbing alcohol and use a spray bottle. There's a risk that the colors might run, but you won't have germs on your tie.

Jeff, I do have a bit of a germ issue actually, so my state of mind was panic and freaking out. I never knew that, though. None of the fabrics were harmed, in fact many look better now. I have OCD, so it was just a bad day tha tI'm still coming off from, and talking about it helps. Sometimes life is a struggle between the things I love making me upset because of stupid things like this.

I lost a Zegna tie on a paper shredder the other day. Just so you feel better :P

That kind of does make me feel better! ahaha. I am sorry about that, either way it sucks. The ties smell good now, though, and all fresh and clean. So, I might actually do that more often, and some gentle ironing.

Rolled up ties on top of things = bad. Lesson learned.
