AE Fifth Avenue Toe Cap against a Strand Toe Cap

Just took delivery of these 13B Fifth Avenues - is it just me, or does the smaller toe cap make the shoe look less elegant than the longer toe cap on the Strand? A 13B on the #5 last provides for a long and lean shoe, but am I just used to looking down at differently designed shoe, or is the Fifth Avenue making me feel the size of the toe cap makes it...dare I say, stubby?

I must admit I always let new purchases marinate for a few days, but I didn't expect to think this when I ordered them!

I really don't like the smaller top caps of PA or 5A on themselves.  But they do look good with full cut pants.

the strand looks so much better

The Strand does look better. I have PAs as well and do find them to look a bit stubby as well. Seeing them side by side with the Strand and the shorter cap helps illustrate the issue.

I really anticipated them being the same as my old Cliftons, but they are a way off them too.

I have Park Avenues in merlot, 12D...the stubby toe cap does two things...looks weird compared to my old Sanfords, and makes the shoe flex in a different spot.
